ASIP Grant Guide 2026: Who Qualifies and How to Apply

Kevin Girdler · June 2, 2026

The Alberta Security Infrastructure Program (ASIP) funds security upgrades for communities at risk of hate-motivated crime — up to $55,000 for nonprofits and $65,000 for eligible schools. It runs on continuous intake with a $5 million yearly budget, processed first-come, first-served.

Who qualifies

Places of worship (mosques, synagogues, gurdwaras, temples, churches), cultural and community centres, faith-based schools (Islamic and Jewish schools and the Arabic bilingual stream open until Dec 31, 2026), shelters and cemeteries.

Not eligible

Private homes, for-profit businesses, and daycares.

What ASIP covers

  • Security assessments — up to $10K
  • Equipment & install — cameras, alarms, lighting, access control and fencing (up to $25K)
  • Staff training — up to $10K
  • Incident response — up to $10K

2026 update: cybersecurity is excluded — funding targets physical, on-site security.
